Erika van Vuuren

Erika has been a qualified First Aid instructor since 2006.

Erika began her medical career as a student nurse in 1985 and has been a first aid instructor since 2005. Initially she was employed by a large corporate company from 2005 and held various roles and responsibilities within the company including being a first aider and participated in the yearly national first aid competitions.

She was also an instructor and delivered training in first aid, firefighting, security assessments, national key point assessments and other SHEQ short courses.

By the end of 2013 she stepped out of her comfort zone and accepted a new challenge with Global Geophysical Services (USA) on Crew 680 in Kenya as their certified instructor and journey manager.

During her time in Kenya, Erika gained valuable experience working in remote areas and developed a good understanding of how to deal with medical emergencies in difficult terrain.

On her return to South Africa in January 2015, Erika was appointed as an Associate Trainer for the Professional Bodyguard Association (UK) in South Africa having duly completed the BTEC Level 3 Education and Training (QCF), along with the specialty subject BTEC Level 2 First Person on Scene Intermediate (IHCD).

Since then she has advanced her clinical knowledge with the completion of the BTEC Level 4 First Person on Scene certificate and a couple of years later the BTEC Level 4 Extended First Person on Scene certificate.

Erika has a natural flair for teaching, and we have received some tremendous reviews regarding her commitment to the delivery of first class training courses anywhere in the world.
