Level 3 First Person on Scene  Intermediate Award (RQF)

Designed to provide you "the emergency responder" with the capability to provide emergency care to a patient(s) at the most crucial time when they need it while waiting for the next echelon of clinical care to arrive.

Such skills are crucial for those working in Private Security particularly Close Protection and Event Security especially in light of the ever encroaching acts of terrorism in every walk of our lives today as the various terrorist organisations try to press home their message.

This course is aimed to equip you with the essential medical skills so that you are capable of delivering immediate and potentially lifesaving medical care in any environment, hostile or otherwise.

Throughout the training you will be taught the skills associated with rapid assessment and stabilisation as well as transfer of both the trauma victim and those suffering a medical emergency to definitive clinical care.

This included the theory element and most importantly the techniques to use the variety of medical equipment at your disposal with one clear objective and that is to protect your patient from further and unnecessary injury.

We will help you to develop the foundation knowledge to enable you to work efficiently as an individual or as part of a team in a variety of situations and locations throughout the world.

No prior qualifications are required though a basic understanding of first aid would be an advantage.

Regardless this will be the most incredible 4 to 5 days where you will grow from being a mere onlooker to someone who could one day save someone's life.

"the golden hour"

In emergency medicine, the golden hour (also known as golden time) refers to a time period lasting for one hour following traumatic injury being sustained by a casualty or medical emergency, during which there is the highest likelihood that prompt medical treatment will prevent death.

It is well established that the patient's chances of survival are greatest if they receive care within a short period of time after a critical  injury.
