SIA licensed linked qualifications

January 29, 2016

International close protection operatives may seek to have their prior training taken into account, regardless of nationality. This process is known as 'Recognition of Prior Learning' (RPL).

If you would like us to to consider your previous learning under the RPL policy, please ensure that you have evidence of your prior training and qualifications when you contact us and we will be able to advise you on whether you should undertake refresher training or a full course.

It is important to ensure that training remains current. Therefore, qualifications allowing exemption or part exemption from the SIA approved training must be no more than three years old. All candidates must take the knowledge test and practical skills assessment.

When you apply for a front line Close Protection licence you must show that you have had the training required of a licensed operative which means that you must hold the qualifications below:-

BTEC Level 3 Certificate for Working as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry and
BTEC Level 2 Award for First Person on Scene (Intermediate)

Please send your details to admin@pbagroup.com for consideration.
